3D Printed Homes for Developing Countries
Science and Technology rocks. In less than 24 hours a 3D printed home made from concrete can now be built at the cost of US$12,000. This is mind-blowing.
An American startup called ICON has begun creating this homes and it wants to “make major advancements in affordability, building performance and sustainability.”
The implications of this, as the future of home ownership is incredible, however what's more exciting is the implementation of this in constructing homes for the disadvantaged, homeless and those in poverty stricken communities. To this end ICON has partnered with the home building charity New Story to build 100 homes in El Salvador next year.
Here's to the minds of the remarkable, the innovators, the brave. Here's to those who are pushing boundaries and finding solutions. Here's to generosity and love.
