There are so many people who have no idea what to do and how to cook basic things, when they get into the kitchen. Are you one of those people?
If you are, help is here. I’ve written a book just for you with a list of basics to help you get ready for your great adventure into food and tastes.
There’s information on kitchen and pantry essentials, organising your kitchen and some crazy easy recipes to get you started. There’s a section on meal planning so you can organise your week of meals without the hassle of thinking of something every night.
To be honest cooking is really not that difficult, it’s just a matter of getting a handle on the basics, practising them and then trusting yourself. We didn’t know how to ride a bike or drive a car at the beginning and this is just the same. It’s just another thing to get your head around.
TRUST YOUR SENSES
Our sense of smell and memory is amazing. Sometimes if you just close your eyes and think of a certain food, you can almost taste it. Imagine if you took that a step further...
You have some chicken in the fridge and you’re not sure what to do with it. Why not close your eyes and imagine yourself sitting down to a great chicken dish. I almost guarantee you will picture the perfect meal for yourself. So, all you have to do is make sure you’ve got all the ingredients lined up and away you go.
Not sure what spice will go with a certain food? Again trust your senses. Go to your spice rack think of the food you want to cook and start sniffing. The spice will find you. I promise.
Trusting your senses is one thing, but making sure you have all the ingredients ready to go for your dinner is quite another thing and that’s where being prepared and having a well stocked cupboard or pantry comes in. Pantry essentials is what it’s all about.
When you subscribe to Mouthful you gain access to every cookbook, planners and essentials I've written. Easy.
